CIPS Level 3
A great introduction to procurement whether you’re new to working in the field, or just wanting to understand more about the function.
Learn how to apply the factual, procedural, and theoretical knowledge of procurement and supply. By the end of this module you’ll be able to complete tasks and address problems that are well-defined but may be complex and non-routine, as well as gaining the confidence you need to excel in your role, or progress to CIPS Level 4.
CIPS Level 4
The highest starting point, CIPS Level 4 is the equivalent to the first year of a degree, and a must for anyone working in procurement or supply chain.
CIPS Level 4 takes an in-depth look at the full procurement cycle, aiming to give you an understanding of proven strategies and techniques to apply in your role. Learn how to use the models, develop your decision making skills, and improve your effectiveness.
Level 4 is the first step to MCIPS status.
CIPS Level 5
CIPS Level 5 is for those who have already completed CIPS Level 4, and is aimed at senior buyers, contract managers, and similar roles. The level is designed to further develop your skills and develop your professional status. By the end of this level there’s just one more to go for MCIPS.
CIPS Level 6
CIPS Level 6 is the final level of the ladder, ideal for people working in higher professional roles and aims to enhance strategic competencies and refine managers’ skills. The course builds on the learning of the prior levels and looks at leadership, development, and higher level management to create well rounded procurement professionals.
At the completition of this level, you will achieve MCIPS status.
CIPS Management Entry Route
If you’ve been working at a high level of seniority in procurement and supply chain for a number of years you may be eligible for the MER route. MER is a practical pathway to guide you to MCIPS status without having to undertake the usual exam route.
